“According to data released today by WHO and the UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF), global childhood immunisation coverage stalled in 2023, leaving 2.7 million additional children un- or under-vaccinated compared to pre-pandemic levels in 2019,” the WHO website reports.

It is noted that in 2023, the number of children who received three doses of diphtheria-tetanus-pertussis (DTP3) vaccine stopped at the level of 84 percent (108 million). At the same time, there were 14.5 million children missing out on any vaccination – so-called zero-dose children.
