When appointing new Energy Minister, Lukashenko mentioned possibility of building another nuclear power plant
President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko has appointed Aleksei Kushnarenko Energy Minister; until now, he headed Beltopgaz State Production Association of Fuel and Gasification
Addressing Mr. Kushnarenko, the Head of State drew attention to the fact that some officials always perceive the Energy Ministry as a priority place of work. “I suppose you do not share this opinion. There is plenty of work there – especially now and in the future,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.
According to the President, this applies to solving the issue of whether to build or not a second nuclear power plant, and generally restoring order in the industry.
The Belarusian leader noted that he had been looking closely at the candidacy of Aleksei Kushnarenko for a long time, “There are only positive feedback on your previous work. Therefore, I hope that our Energy Ministry will benefit from this appointment.”
