Victory Day greetings sent to Lukashenko and Belarusian people

The President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, and the people of Belarus are receiving numerous congratulations on the occasion of the 79th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, sb.by reports with reference to the Belarusian leader’s press service

Wishes of peace, well-being and prosperity to the Belarusian people are sent by foreign leaders, heads of integration associations, well-known personalities.

In his congratulatory message, President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin noted that on this truly sacred day for Russians and Belarusians, peoples pay tribute to gratitude and respect to the glorious generation of winners: frontline soldiers, partisans, underground workers and home front workers. “The memory of their courage, self-sacrifice and, of course, the incalculable sacrifices that had to be made to defeat the Nazis will forever remain in our hearts,” the Russian leader stressed. “Unfortunately, there are many people in the world today who not only justify the bloody atrocities of the Nazis and their accomplices, but also purposefully nurture their ideological heirs, who commit no less serious crimes.”

Vladimir Putin drew attention to the fact that Russia highly appreciates Belarus’ continued support and Minsk’s active participation in strengthening the Union State security, “I’m convinced that by preserving the good traditions of fraternal friendship and mutual assistance – bequeathed by our fathers and grandfathers – our nations will be able to overcome any difficulties and trials with honour.”

The Russian President also asked to convey his sincere gratitude to all veterans of the Great Patriotic War living in Belarus, as well as his wishes for strong health, well-being and long life.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev noted that the May 9th holiday has forever gone down in history as a symbol of the unparalleled heroism, valour and dedication of combat veterans and home front workers in the fight against fascism, in the struggle for freedom and independence. “On this bright day, we honour and cherish the memory of the feat of our heroes, all those who defended their homeland at the cost of their lives, and pay tribute to all those who raised destroyed towns and villages from the ruins after the war,” the Azerbaijani leader stressed. He expressed confidence that friendship and unshakeable unity of the peoples who stood shoulder to shoulder at the front, who passed the hardest trials of the war years, will always be a solid foundation for strengthening and further development of interstate relations.

Ilham Aliyev wished Aleksandr Lukashenko, all war veterans and home front workers, and all the friendly people of Belarus happiness and prosperity.

President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon stressed that the glorious date of May 9th is a symbol of the unprecedented feat and valour of the nations, “On this day we bow our heads low before the bright memory of the dead, with a sense of pride and gratitude we remember the courage, heroism and dedication of our ancestors, who forged the Great Victory shoulder to shoulder on the battlefields and in the rear.” The Tajik leader expressed confidence that the good traditions of friendship, solidarity and mutual support will continue to serve to strengthen the positive dynamics of co-operation between Tajikistan and Belarus in line with the strategic partnership.

Emomali Rahmon wished Aleksandr Lukashenko health and success, and peace and prosperity to the friendly people of Belarus.

In his congratulatory message, Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov expressed confidence that the historical ties of friendship and mutual support between the two countries’ peoples, which passed the harsh tests of the Great Patriotic War, will further contribute to the development of fruitful interaction between Kyrgyzstan and Belarus.

Sadyr Japarov wished Aleksandr Lukashenko strong health and prosperity, and peace and well-being to the friendly Belarusian people.

In his Victory Day greeting, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted that the memory of this sacred day is kept in the hearts as a symbol of unparalleled heroism and bravery, true patriotism and courage of the victorious soldiers. “We are infinitely grateful to our frontline soldiers and home front workers who went through all the troubles and hardships of the war, freed the world from the fascist threat,” the President of Uzbekistan stressed. He expressed confidence that the relations of friendship and mutual support will continue to serve as a solid foundation for multifaceted liaisons between Uzbekistan and Belarus.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev wished Aleksandr Lukashenko good health, prosperity and success in state activities, and peace and prosperity to the friendly Belarusian people.

Congratulations were also received from President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov reading that, “On this day, we pay tribute to those who won on the battlefields and on the labour front. This great Victory Day will forever remain a symbol of the heroic spirit and unity of our peoples, who, shoulder to shoulder, defended a bright future for future generations. I’m convinced that the friendship and fraternal relations shown during the war years will continue to serve as a solid foundation for strengthening our bilateral relations.”

Serdar Berdimuhamedov wished Aleksandr Lukashenko and the Great Patriotic War veterans strong health, happiness and inexhaustible energy, and peace, prosperity and well-being to the friendly people of Belarus.

President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari addressed heartfelt congratulations to the Belarusian leader and the Belarusian people on the occasion of Victory Day – an important holiday dedicated to the sacrifices and valour of Belarusians who bravely fought and gave their lives for freedom. “Given the difficult geopolitical situation, Pakistan and Belarus should work together to maintain peace, stability and economic development based on the principles of international law,” he stressed.

Asif Ali Zardari wished Aleksandr Lukashenko good health and happiness, as well as further success and prosperity to the friendly people of Belarus.

Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro underlined in his congratulatory message that his country glorifies the heroic struggle of the brave troops who defeated Nazism. “The self-sacrifice of your people has left an indelible mark on history,” he noted. Nicolas Maduro addressed Aleksandr Lukashenko, “Mr. President, in the face of new challenges, in the fight against neo-colonialism in a number of countries, we must contrast our values of peace and dialogue with everything that poses a threat to humanity. Be sure that you can count on the understanding, commitment and courage of the Venezuelan people, who – based on the principles of Bolivarian Peace Diplomacy – constantly fight for a just cause, resisting any manifestations of fascism and standing in favour of a just multipolar world without war.” The President of Venezuela wished happiness and prosperity to the Belarusian people.

Greetings also have been received from CIS Secretary General Sergei Lebedev. “This great holiday is a symbol of the unbending will, valour and courage of our fathers and grandfathers, who stood shoulder to shoulder in defence of the Motherland in the face of the fascist threat. On this day, with a feeling of boundless gratitude, we honour the fallen heroes, remember the frontline soldiers and home front workers who – with their feats and unparalleled courage – defended peace and freedom for future generations,” the congratulatory message reads.

The President of Belarus, who is also the Chairman of the Supreme State Council of the Union State, was congratulated on Victory Day by State Secretary of Union State Dmitry Mezentsev. He noted that this holiday is a symbol of the spiritual greatness and heroism of the multinational Soviet people for every Belarusian and Russian, for all honest citizens of the planet. People in Belarus and Russia remember at what cost the Victory was achieved, they honour the feat of arms and labour, the greatness of the spirit of the fathers and grandfathers who crushed Nazism. “Following the traditions of protecting historical truth, Belarusians and Russians are developing the principles of unbreakable friendship, unity, and fraternal mutual assistance,” Dmitry Mezentsev underlined.

The Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organisation (CSTO), Imangali Tasmagambetov, also sent a congratulatory message to the Belarusian leader, “The historical traditions of friendship, brotherhood, cohesion and mutual support, strengthened during the war years, serve as a reliable basis for deepening the allied relations of the CSTO members, strengthening security and stability in Eurasian space.”
