Venezuela views BRICS summit in Kazan as historic event
Venezuelan Deputy Foreign Minister Coromoto Godoy Calderón said that his country considers the upcoming BRICS summit in Kazan to be an event of historic scale, TASS reports
Coromoto Godoy Calderón noted that Venezuela considers the summit of the bloc of developing countries in Kazan a historic event, taking into account the transcendental changes that humanity is experiencing.
The official added that the invitation sent by Russian President Vladimir Putin to Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro to take part in the upcoming BRICS summit ‘was met with joy and hope by the Venezuelan people’. According to Godoy, Venezuela sees in BRICS an opportunity ‘to position the country in the world on the principles of peace and complementarity, with guarantees of a future for young people’.
