"Taking into account the attempts of external interference in the internal affairs of Venezuela during the Venezuelan presidential elections, Belarus’ Central Election Commission hosted a meeting between the CEC leadership, a group of Belarusian observers who carried out international monitoring of the presidential elections of Venezuela and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to Belarus, Franklin Araque – upon the initiative of the Venezuelan side,” the source said.
It is noted that the diplomat informed the Belarusian side about the results of the elections and the current state of affairs in the country: in particular, about specific facts of interference in Venezuela's internal affairs by other states, cyber attacks on the electoral system, attempts to intimidate and sway the situation before the announcement of official election results.
In turn, a group of Belarusian observers confirmed an earlier statement that the presidential elections in Venezuela were held in accordance with the national legislation of that country.
