Venezuela expects to join BRICS in 2024

The Foreign Minister of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Ivan Gil Pinto, said his country expects to join BRICS in 2024, especially since it shares the association’s political position regarding a new world order, TASS reports

Ivan Gil Pinto said that work is underway to ensure that Venezuela is represented at all BRICS events. Also, according to him, Venezuela expects to formally join BRICS in 2024.

The Foreign Minister stressed that the republic ‘boasts the largest oil and gas reserves, an enviable geopolitical location, and most importantly, takes a firm political position that fully coincides with the BRICS principles in building a new world, a new world order based on complementarity and solidarity’.
