According to Marina Vasilevskaya, it is a great honour and responsibility for her to be present at the Palace of Independence today and receive a high award from the President of Belarus, “I probably still can’t believe it... I dedicate the space flight to my native Belarus, to my beloved Belarusians who supported me. We have such a cosmic story, we may even say, through hardships to the stars: a double launch, an emergency situation, two days of flight... It was happiness for me.”

The cosmonaut said that all planned work and research had been completed. Moreover, the results of individual experiments have already been obtained, and, according to Ms. Vasilevskaya, everything worked out.

“I’m happy, I’m glad. There are a lot of emotions, a lot of information that I want to tell the world about our beautiful Earth. It is so powerful and at the same time fragile... We saw flames in the windows when we were descending to Earth and the opening of the parachutes. It was unforgettable!” the first cosmonaut of sovereign Belarus shared her emotions and impressions.

When asked if Marina Vasilevskaya dreamed about space after landing, she said that the other day she woke up and could not understand whether she was still in weightlessness or no longer there, “It was like I was in zero gravity. We are currently undergoing rehabilitation. I feel good. Thanks for support!”

Today Marina Vasilevskaya is returning to the Zvyozdny Gorodok [Star City] near Moscow.
