Uzbekistan to start buying Russian gas from October 1st

Uzbekistan plans to start importing Russian gas from October 1^st, TASS reports

According to the press secretary of Uzbekistan’s Energy Ministry, Hasan Toshkhojayev, Russian gas supplies to the country will begin on October 1^st in line with the plans. He added that all the necessary infrastructure and gas pipelines are ready to receive high-pressure gas.

Earlier, Uzbekistan signed a two-year contract with Gazprom for the supply of natural gas to the republic. Under the agreement, the annual volume of imports should be about 2.8bn cubic metres.
