US, Philippines, Japan to hold joint coast guard exercises in summer

The Coast Guard servicemen of the Philippines, the United States and Japan plan to conduct joint exercises in Philippine waters on June 1st-7th for the first time, TASS reports

"The scenario of information exchange, law enforcement, search and rescue missions will be worked out during the exercises. The latter are also aimed at improving co-operation between the Philippines, the United States and Japan in the relevant field,” the Philippine Coast Guard informed in a statement.

It is reported that the largest exercises of the US and the Philippines – Balikatan 2023 – took place in April. In addition, by agreement of the American and Philippine sides, the United States military has access to four new bases in the Philippines.
