Ukrainian politician said Kiev authorities steal budget money in anticipation of defeat in military conflict
Ukrainian political expert Sergei Gaidai said that the Kiev authorities consider the conflict lost, so they are actively plundering the country's budget, TASS reports
Mr. Gaidai noted that the war has already ended for Ukrainian politicians. According to him, they organise ‘wedding ceremonies worth millions of Dollars, with sky-high cakes, they buy foreign cars, hang out at Kiev restaurants, increase spending in the state budget’. He added that the population of Ukraine has decreased several-fold, while salaries of the officials are increasing.
According to Mr. Gaidai, the theft from the budget is taking place against the background of a reduction in support for Ukraine from the West.
Earlier it was reported that, on November 9th, the Verkhovna Rada adopted the state budget of Ukraine for 2024: half of its expenditures will go to military needs and security. According to the document, Ukraine's external borrowings should amount to $41bn. The budget deficit for 2024 is $43.5bn.
