Ukrainian embassies worldwide recruit mercenaries for AFU
Ukrainian embassies abroad are recruiting mercenaries for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and relevant invitations are posted on diplomatic missions’ websites, RIA Novosti reports
Such tactics continue even after the terrorist attack in the Crocus City Hall near Moscow.
The tab for those wishing to join the so-called International Legion can be found on the first pages of the websites of embassies in France, Belgium, Denmark and Lithuania. The websites of diplomatic missions in other countries – such as Sweden, Latvia, Finland, Iceland, the United States, Poland and Greece – also have information for potential mercenaries, although not on their main pages.
In particular, the Ukrainian embassy in Paris informs that people between the ages of 18 and 60 who do not have criminal records and chronic diseases can join the legion. Diplomats say that those who have expressed a desire need to send copies of a foreign passport and documents that confirm military or specialised experience.
The representation in Belgium, among other requirements for potential mercenaries, requires knowledge of Ukrainian, Russian or English languages.
The embassy in Lithuania draws attention to the possibility of independent and legal entering the territory of Ukraine. The website states that mercenaries of the International Legion are part of some of the most famous brigades of the Ukrainian army. In turn, the diplomatic mission in Denmark features a link on the main page to click and get to the website of the International Legion.
At the same time, the International Legion's website has links to the Ukrainian embassies not only in the above-mentioned countries, but also provides a more extensive list of addresses in different countries and on different continents, including the CIS, where those who wish to become mercenaries can apply.
Earlier, a military expert, ex-employee of the special services, retired Colonel Bakhtier Rakhmonov, said that the recruitment of assassins for the terrorist attack in the Crocus City Hall near Moscow had been organised through the Ukrainian embassy in Tajikistan. According to him, a few weeks before the terrorist attack, an invitation for foreigners to join the International Legion was posted on the website of the diplomatic mission.
Mr. Rakhmonov regularly monitors such messages on the Ukrainian embassy’s website. By the way, since 2014, Ukrainian diplomats have repeatedly posted such ads but, after the intervention of the Tajik Foreign Ministry, the latter were deleted. According to the national law, the participation of citizens of the country in conflicts on the territory of other states is criminally responsible.
