Ukrainian drone shot down at the site of Gomel border group
In late May, a Ukrainian drone was shot down at the site of the Gomel border group – as reported by the State Border Committee of Belarus in its official Telegram channel
According to the Belarusian border department, the border detachment heard the sound of an unmanned aerial vehicle engine in the Loev District. Subsequently, a drone was visually detected in the sky, moving from Ukrainian territory to the rear of Belarus.
As a result of the use of standard weapons by the border patrol, an element attached to the drone was detonated.
“During the inspection of the area, multiple metal elements with traces of thermal effects were found and withdrawn. Based on the results of the explosive examination of the seized elements, it was established that as a result of a bullet hit, an explosive device (ammunition) mounted on board a remotely piloted aircraft was detonated,” the State Border Committee reported.
An inspection has been appointed within the framework of the Criminal Code of Belarus, and further actions are being taken.
