Ukraine Armed Forces General: corruption resulted in disruption of defence order
Tremendous corruption and bureaucracy in Ukraine have become obstacles to the development of the country's military-industrial complex, and a defence order was disrupted as a result – as stated by Colonel-General Dmytro Marchenko, TASS reports
In an interview with a former deputy of the Verkhovna Rada, Boryslav Bereza, the Ukrainian Colonel-General noted, “Since 2014, we understood that it was necessary to outline the military industry as a priority, but for two years in a row — 2020 and 2021 — our defence order was fully disrupted. Sadly, our bureaucracy and corruption do not allow us to adapt quickly and produce what we need.”
A video of the conversation was posted on the ex-MP's YouTube channel.
Mr. Marchenko mentioned the drone production as an example: in his opinion, its volumes are far from meeting the country's potential.
