“Representatives of the Sharjah tourism industry have recently visited Minsk, presenting the potential of their emirate,” the Republican Union of Tourism Organisations posted on its website. “It was stated at the meeting that Belarus ranks third among the CIS states in terms of the number of tourists who visit Sharjah, and this is a very significant result. The first place is taken by Russia, and it is followed by Kazakhstan and Belarus. As regards the growth rate of arrivals, the republic tops the list: the flow has increased by 50 percent this year against the 2023 level, and it now stands at 15 thousand tourists. The figure is definitely high for our market.”

According to travel industry professionals, Sharjah is of interest to Belarusians due to alluring offers from operators, as well as the constant improvement of travel products. In particular, Sharjah Airport is very convenient for travellers.

“When a tourist arrives in Sharjah, the time for passing all formalities at the airport does not exceed 20-30 minutes. Moreover, a new terminal is now being constructed, and it will be completed by the end of 2027. Prices for aircraft maintenance in Sharjah are 30 percent lower than at neighbouring airports, and planes do not have to wait in line in the air to land – which influences the fuel consumption and makes ticket prices lower,” the source added.

As noted by the Belarusian side, the emirate boasts a strategic location: in the centre of the country, next to all other emirates. “It is possible to comfortably relax in Sharjah and at the same time have the opportunity to see the sights of other emirates. It is washed by the Arabian and Oman bays. In addition, Sharjah successfully offers a combined vacation, with beach pleasures and an extensive excursion programme. The sands and dunes neighbour rocks and mountains here. Moreover, the emirate is very compact: beaches, attractions, hotels and shops are within walking distance,” the Republican Union of Tourism Organisations reported.
