Two new border posts to open in Gomel Region in 2024
Ivan Krupko, the Chairman of the Gomel Regional Executive Committee, shared plans to improve the effectiveness of state border protection as he participated in the recent launch of the Borovoye outpost, also assessing the infrastructure of the new facility and the technical means used by the servicemen of the Mozyr border detachment
The experience of all similar units was taken into account in the construction of the Borovoye border post in the Lelchitsy District, with special attention paid to advanced equipment, means of monitoring and detecting violators, comfortable living conditions, platforms for honing the skills of pathfinders, physical exercises and training of service dogs. Everything was done to ensure that Belarusian border guards perform their difficult duty at the highest level.
“Belarus’ President Aleksandr Lukashenko has more than once said that peace and security are a priority for us, especially in today's time,” Mr. Krupko stressed. “Therefore, exercises of the military bloc and the territorial defence forces are regularly organised in the Gomel Region, and conditions are created to ensure the sovereignty and security of the country.”
The official highly appreciated the conditions created for border guards and noted that all other facilities will definitely enjoy the similar infrastructure. This year, two more new outposts will be launched in the Gomel Region, one will be reconstructed.
The Borovoye outpost guards a 45km section of the state border with Ukraine. There are many wetlands here. In 2023 and in two months of 2024, the guards detained two border violators and seven violators of the border regime.
