Wood said he knew about dozens of New Zealand soldiers who are doing ‘both combat and non-combat’ missions in Ukraine. The publication also contains information about a New Zealand citizen who died in Ukraine. The country’s authorities plan to learn the details of his death in the near future.
Former Honorary Consul of Ukraine in New Zealand Oleksandr Kirichuk, in turn, said that he called on New Zealand citizens to abandon the idea of taking part in a special operation. He also noted that he left his post because he did not agree with the position of the Ukrainian authorities, calling on foreigners to participate in hostilities in Ukraine.
