Syria applied for BRICS membership

Syria wants to join BRICS and has already submitted an application for membership – as stated by the Ambassador of Syria to Russia, Bashar Jaafari, TASS reports

“We are very interested in joining BRICS. We have sent written requests to join the organisation," the Syrian diplomat said on the side-lines of the North Caucasus: New Geostrategic Opportunities forum.
