State Secretary of Union State: work on providing humanitarian assistance to Donbass children will continue
The work on providing humanitarian assistance to children of Donbass will continue this year – as stated by the State Secretary of the Union State, Dmitry Mezentsev, at a meeting of the 66th session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union State of Belarus and Russia held in Minsk on June 17th
“We are sincerely grateful for the decision of President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko and President of Russia Vladimir Putin on systematic work to provide humanitarian assistance to Donbass children. As for the gross, shameless distortion of facts, which the fugitives – who fled the country in 2020 and who stay in the Baltic States and Poland now – promote, I want to remind you that 2,150 children have been rehabilitated in the Republic of Belarus, including at the expense of the budget, and all of them returned to the Donetsk and Lugansk republics,” Mr. Mezentsev stated.
The State Secretary of the Union State stressed that it had been said more than once that not a single child had been lost, not a single child had fallen ill, broken a leg, or received an injury.
“Every child undergoing rehabilitation in Belarus has permission from their parents or guardians to go outside their country. At the same time, the facts of falsifications and distortions on the part of Western partners continue. There has been not a single negative case, but at the same time, information is being politically spread to once again put pressure on Belarus, where children from the Donetsk and Lugansk republics are holidaying and undergoing rehabilitation," Mr. Mezentsev said.
