State Secretary of Security Council: 14,000 AFU troops concentrated near Belarus’ borders
The Armed Forces of Ukraine have concentrated a group of 14 thousand soldiers near the borders of Belarus – as informed by the State Secretary of Belarus’ Security Council, Aleksandr Volfovich, in his talk with ONT TV channel
Mr. Volfovich noted that the decision to strengthen the southern operational direction had been fully justified, “All the recent statements coming from the West and Ukraine, all reproaches that we have created some groups to launch an offensive on the territory of Ukraine in the south cause a smile.”
According to the State Secretary, the Belarusian group of forces near Ukraine is several times smaller than the one deployed on the other side of the border. “A group of about 14 thousand soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other paramilitary structures of this country are concentrated near our borders. It is simply ridiculous to say that our grouping at the state border threatens the security of Ukraine," Mr. Volfovich stressed.
The State Secretary recalled that Belarus has always been interested in peace. “Belarus’ policy has never been aimed at threatening anyone. Belarus has also never expressed any reproaches, threats, or claims against Ukraine. We have always lived in peace, friendship, and harmony. While there, our military are engaged in planned combat training – doing this not at training grounds, but in areas, on terrain. They are practicing tactics and tasks, equipping and improving fortifications and our southern borders, and they are doing this without threatening anyone,” he stressed.
