State Duma deputy: Lukashenko is our only reliable ally

The West is working tirelessly to separate Belarus and Russia – as stated by the First Deputy Head of the Defence Committee at Russia’s State Duma, Aleksei Zhuravlev, during the Minsk-Moscow Union State live streaming

According to the deputy, some pro-Western bloggers, public figures and even politicians tried to add fuel to the fire even before the start of the special military operation. “Some of them said at the time that something was wrong in Belarus. I always responded: Lukashenko is our only reliable ally, there is no other, if it seems to you that he is doing something wrong at present, then he will do the right things tomorrow. It's logical, it happens in a family, for example. It may seem today that the other person is mistaken, but everything will be fine tomorrow,” Mr. Zhuravlev said.

The expert believes it is like a balm for the soul for the West to cause a quarrel between Russia and Belarus. “Actually, the people of Belarus and their leadership understand this very well. I am sure that, in addition to state relations, personal relations between our presidents also play a role. Therefore, I do not know what needs to be done in order for us to quarrel with Belarus. However, they are trying to do it in all possible ways. We have such people as well, and we need to investigate why they are doing this,” the State Duma deputy added.
