State Duma approved Russia-China agreement on co-operation in gas supplies
The State Duma of the Russian Federation has adopted a law on the ratification of the agreement between Russia and China on co-operation in the field of natural gas supplies, RIA Novosti reports
The agreement envisages construction of a cross-border section of the gas pipeline. It starts at a gas metering station in Russia in the area of Dalnerechensk, passing further through the Ussuri River and ending at the Hulin launch station in China. Gazprom oversees the design, construction and operation of the site on the territory of Russia, while Chinese National Pipeline Corporation is engaged in part from China.
It is reported that the agreement is beneficial to both sides. It will give an additional impetus to the socio-economic and technological development of the Far Eastern regions.
