Belarus’ State Customs Committee: Lithuania’s rejection of customs agreement again confirms its disdainful attitude towards people
The official refusal to fulfil the obligations stipulated by Belarus and Lithuania in the customs agreement is another confirmation of the disdainful attitude of the Lithuanian side towards people – as noted by the press service of Belarus’ State Customs Committee, when commenting on the relevant initiatives
“The official refusal to fulfil the obligations stipulated by Belarus and Lithuania in the customs agreement is another confirmation of the disdainful attitude of the Lithuanian side towards people, including citizens of their country. Lithuanian colleagues stopped any co-operation with the Belarusian customs in early 2022,” the State Customs Committee noted.
Earlier, Belarus’ customs authorities repeatedly appealed about the need to comply with agreements on the reception of vehicles, offered to hold meetings, consider the possibility of opening closed checkpoints. There was no reaction.
“At present, Lithuanians demonstrate their attitude in all ways: they artificially create queues at the border, hampering vehicle clearance or sometimes not registering at all. And this is taking into account the fact that only two checkpoints were left in operation,” the press service of the State Customs Committee stressed.
Information sources reported that the Lithuanian government approved the Finance Ministry’s proposal to denounce agreements on co-operation in the customs sphere with Belarus and Russia.
