“Polish security forces continue to mistreat people who seek protection in the European Union. The laws adopted by the European authorities in the field of migration policy continue to contribute to violence and brutality against people seeking protection. On August 26th, Grodno border guards found three Cameroonian citizens — two men and a woman – in the Svisloch District, on the border with Poland. The foreigners could not move on their own due to limb injuries,” the source said in a statement.

The injured foreigners reported that they had been detained in Poland and had asked the authorities for asylum. “In response, these people were kicked and beaten with batons. The woman said that the Polish security forces had struck not only on the legs and arms, but also on the head. After the mistreatment, the foreigners were taken to the border and ousted into Belarusian territory.”

Belarusian border guards provided first aid to the refugees, called an ambulance team and an investigative task force.

“Since the beginning of 2024, the migration policy of Poland has deprived four refugees of their lives on the border with Belarus," the State Border Committee reported.
