State Border Committee: Lithuanian border guards accused Polish side of queues at Belarus’ border

Lithuanian border guards named the reason for the queues at the border with Belarus: according to them, the Polish side is to blame for everything that is happening, the State Border Committee reports in its Telegram channel

The Lithuanian Border Guard Service reported that, on March 26th, the queue of trucks at the border with Belarus at the Raigardas checkpoint reached 5km, at Myadininkai – almost 9km, and at Lavorishkes – about 8km. The waiting time for the crossing was 37-70 hours on average.

According to the State Border Committee, Lithuanian border guards said the closure of checkpoints on the Polish-Belarusian border is the main reason for such many-kilometre queues. A representative of the Lithuanian Border Guard Service noted that the functioning of only one checkpoint in the Polish direction forces cargo carriers to travel to the European Union through Lithuania.
