State Border Committee: elk corpse found on Belarusian-Lithuanian border

A border patrol found a dead elk on the Belarusian-Lithuanian border in the Postavy District on September 25^th: on its way to Lithuania from the Belarusian territory, the animal was fatally injured after getting entangled in the Lithuanian barbed wire, sb.by reports with reference to the State Border Committee

As reported by the State Bordr Committee, the elk died of blood loss on the territory of Belarus a few metres from the Lithuanian fence.

"Since September 2021, the Belarusian side has already recorded 49 cases of animal deaths. They all have become victims of the border fences of the neighbouring EU countries," the source added.
