State Border Committee: corpse of foreign woman found by Belarusian guards on border with Latvia

The corpse of a foreign citizen was discovered on April 25th at the border with Latvia, sb.by reports with reference to the State Border Committee’s Telegram channel

According to the source, the incident occurred in the Verkhnedvinsk District. Soldiers of the Polotsk border detachment found an African-Asian woman unconscious. An ambulance team arrived at the scene and pronounced the foreigner dead.

The second case was registered in the Kamenets District of the Brest Region on the border with Poland. "A Malian citizen was found unconscious wrapped in a sleeping bag 150 metres from the Polish engineering barrier. There were traces of dragging from the gate in the Polish fence towards the scene. According to the man, he lost consciousness in the presence of Polish security forces and did not remember anything until he got assistance from Belarusian doctors," the State Border Committee reported. The man was hospitalised in the Kamenets hospital.

Since the beginning of 2024, the bodies of six refugees have been found on the border with the European Union: three deaths were recorded on the border with Poland, three more – on the border with Latvia.
