Soyuz MS-25 spacecraft to dock ISS on March 25th
On March 25th, at 18:10 Moscow time, the crew of the Soyuz MS-25 manned transport spacecraft, which launched from the Baikonur Cosmodrome on March 23rd, will dock at a port on the station’s Earth-facing Prichal Module, a part of the Russian ISS Segment.
The actual transfer to the International Space Station (ISS) usually takes about two to three hours. Only after checking the tightness of the docking between the spacecraft and the ISS, and equalising the air pressure, will the crew open the transition hatches. The preliminary time is set for 20:10 Moscow time. Then, Roscosmos cosmonaut Oleg Novitsky, participant of the space flight from Belarus Marina Vasilevskaya and NASA astronaut Tracy Dyson will board the ISS.
The flight duration of the crew will be 14 days – two days more due to the change in the launch date and the docking scheme. Very soon, Oleg Novitsky, Marina Vasilevskaya and Tracy Dyson will join the work at the ‘space house’. The crew of the 21st expedition to the ISS has a common task: to carry out the space flight programme, its scientific experiments, and work on board the station. Oleg Novitsky, Marina Vasilevskaya, as well as NASA astronaut Loral O'Hara, who has been at the station since September 15th, 2023, will return from a ‘space trip’ on April 6th on the Soyuz MS-24 spacecraft.
