Somnologist described ways to fall asleep easily
It is not always possible to fall asleep quickly and easily, as many thoughts often pop into the head before going to bed, which do not allow people to relax. It can take more than half an hour to fall asleep, so many people are looking for various ways that can help them find themselves in the arms of Morpheus faster. Somnologist Mikhail Poluektov explained how to fall asleep quickly, sb.by reports.
Mikhail Poluektov stated that the main secret to falling asleep quickly is not to force oneself to fall asleep sooner, “The harder a person tries to fall asleep, the more the brain is activated, which reduces the likelihood of sleep. Accordingly, the main key to falling asleep quickly is not to think about the need to sleep, but just accept such a detail of life, a routine situation, and then you will fall asleep.”
The specialist also noted that there are several additional factors that improve falling asleep, “It is the observance of sleep hygiene rules that provides people with the best conditions for dreaming. These include darkening the bedroom, airing the room, a comfortable room environment, temperature, exclusion of physical and mental activity just before falling asleep, and avoiding activity in bed.”
The somnologist also advised to imagine a quiet place. Instead of counting sheep, he suggested imagining a peaceful environment and the associated feelings, “Try to remember the sound of a waterfall, the smell of wet moss, and rain. It is important that these images are imprinted in the brain and push out the thoughts and anxieties that prevent sleep.”
According to Mikhail Poluektov, these are fairly simple rules, but if you follow them every day and do not try to force yourself to sleep, then after a while you will fall asleep immediately after you go to bed.
