Snopkov: Belarus ready to actively participate in Global Development Initiative

As part of his visit to the People’s Republic of China, Belarus’ First Deputy Prime Minister Nikolai Snopkov took part in the first high-level conference of the Forum on Global Action for Shared Development in Beijing and delivered a welcoming speech

“Belarus was one of the first countries to support the Global Development Initiative (GDI) put forward by Chinese President Xi Jinping in 2021,” said Nikolai Snopkov.

Belarus-China relations between are based on a common vision of the world order, respect for the unique way of development of each nation and state, as well as a common understanding of the inviolability of sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity.

The First Deputy PM noted that the very idea of the GDI envisages the participation of all states without exception in the global agenda, and expressed confidence that the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development will be fully implemented through joint efforts. Belarus is ready to participate in the initiative with specific projects in the field of food security, digital development, and healthcare.

Within the framework of the forum, it is planned to develop the principles of selection and algorithms for financing joint projects.
