Slovakia did not support EU sanctions on Russian fuel for nuclear power plants
Slovakia did not support the inclusion of fuel for nuclear power plants in the 12th package of EU sanctions against Russia, TASS reports
The Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of Slovakia, Juraj Blanar, said it is a red line for the Direction – Social Democracy party, which is the largest one in the government coalition.
Mr. Blanar explained his position by saying that local nuclear power plants currently have no opportunity to switch to the fuel alternative to Russian, and that is why his country opposed such restrictive measures.
