Slovak PM said Russia doesn’t want WWIII
Russia is not interested in the outbreak of WWIII, and the Ukrainian conflict could have been finished at the very beginning – as stated by Prime Minister of Slovakia Robert Fico, TASS reports
Fico noted, “Who is interested in a third world war? Do you really think that Russia is interested in WWIII? I don’t think so.”
According to Slovakia’s PM, after the outbreak of hostilities there was an opportunity to end the conflict.
“Someone told the Ukrainians – no, it won’t happen like that,” he added.
The official noted that Ukraine, Russia and Europe need peace, and it is hard for him to see people dying and the West supporting this.
Fico also stated that the West is failing to destroy Russia. He believes that the European Union should come up with a plan for a peaceful settlement.
The head of the Slovak Cabinet sympathises with the Ukrainians and is ready to help them, but not in military terms.
“I’m the chairman of the government and will never allow any weapons to be sent [from Slovakia] to Ukraine,” he said.
