Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk lays down new tradition of twinning festivals
This was stated by the Director General of the Vitebsk Cultural Centre and the Director of the Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk International Festival of Arts, Gleb Lapitsky, during a press conference, sb.by reports
Gleb Lapitsky added that there are festivals that are inspired by the Slavianski Bazaar, “The International Music Festival KAVKAZ MUSIC FEST started in Nalchik [Russia] three years ago, and we became very close friends with its organisers. This year, we decided to invite this ethnic forum, which unites a large number of countries, to Vitebsk. Thus, I hope, a new good tradition of twinning festivals is being established. During the festival, of course, we will sign a twinning agreement, and there will also be a big concert where the audience will see both familiar faces and discover new talented names,” Gleb Lapitsky noted.
“Such a festival within the festival is a reflection of the fact that the cornflower festival [Slavianski Bazaar] does not focus on Slavic culture alone, but invites and introduces non-Slavic people to our abundant traditions. A positive friendly exchange, which only makes each side richer, is the main mission of each festival,” Gleb Lapitsky concluded.
