Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk Festival of Arts to bring together representatives of 33 countries
In 2024, the Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk Festival of Arts will bring together representatives of 33 countries – as noted by Inna Adamovich, the Deputy Head of the General Directorate — Head of the Department for State Special Cultural Events at the Belarusian Culture Ministry, BelTA reports
“It’s symbolic that this year the 33rd Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk International Festival of Arts will bring together representatives of 33 countries of the world: from Russia to India, from China to Colombia. For example, representatives of about 22 countries are planned to participate in the festival’s competition programmes, including representatives from 15 states are expected to take part in the children’s competition, and those representing 16 countries in the adult competition,” Ms. Adamovich said.
According to her, every year the festival expands its borders, attracting representatives of new participating countries.
“This is because Belarus is a friendly country and everyone who has visited the Slavianski Bazaar forum at least once, I’m sure will definitely return to this unique, special holiday atmosphere next year, and more than once,” the official noted.
“The forum will be themed around the 80th anniversary of Belarus’ liberation from the Nazi invaders, the Year of Quality, and anniversaries, since this year marks the 110th birth anniversary of composer Mark Fradkin (a native of Vitebsk) and the 50th anniversary of our legendary band Syabry — the honoured ensemble of the Republic of Belarus. The theme of space will also be reflected in the festival programme,” Inna Adamovich added.
This year, the Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk Festival will be held from July 9th-15th.
