Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk Arts Festival may have twinning festival every year

This was noted by Gleb Lapitsky, the Director of the Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk International Festival of Arts, during a press conference dedicated to the 33rd arts forum, noting how high the bar is set for the fest

The KAVKAZ MUSIC FEST – a large ethnic festival that takes place in Nalchik and is represented by participants from a huge number of countries – will become the first swallow. This year, an agreement on the twinning of these two forums – seemingly so different, but united by true friendship and love of creativity – will be officially signed in Vitebsk. The founder of the KAVKAZ MUSIC FEST, producer and director Timur Khatsaev, was a special guest of the online press conference.

“I’m especially pleased that there is less than a month left before the arrival in Vitebsk, which is connected with the Slavianski Bazaar for everyone to a certain degree, a holiday sincerely devoted to culture, arts, and love for people. It is pleasant to realise that over the 33-year history the forum has gained true greatness, because it never stands still, constantly looking for new facets. The twinned festivals will be one of these facets. In 2024, we will arrive in Vitebsk with the brightest Caucasian artists, people’s artists from each of the republics of the North Caucasus. These will be singers, as well as the oldest professional band of the North Caucasus: the Kabardinka State Academic Dance Ensemble of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic, which will go to the Slavianski Bazaar for the second time,” Timur Khatsaev noted, admitting that when he was planning the KAVKAZ MUSIC FEST, he and his team were inspired by the Belarusian ‘cornflower’ holiday.

“We can obviously say that this festival influences other cultures and projects that are developing in a decent way. They look at the Slavianski Bazaar event as an older brother and try to match it,” he added.
