“The arrival of the Head of State is both a responsible and joyful event. Aleksandr Grigorievich [Lukashenko] is very charismatic. This emotionality cannot be confused with anything, and it gives the necessary impetus to further development. It is now necessary to concentrate our efforts on the harvesting campaign, to accelerate and polish some points. In this regard, even criticism is for the good. Moreover, Aleksandr Grigorievich is an experienced man, he headed a farm when my mother worked there. The President does everything efficiently, usefully, and with love for the Motherland. I am sure that the result of this visit will also be significant. Everyone is motivated to work even harder; we cannot actually let our fellow countryman down, we have someone to look up to. If everyone gives their best in their place, then everything will be fine," Igor Buketov, the Chairman of the Gorodets Village Executive Committee, said, adding that he is pleased with the attention the President pays to the rural development.

“What is urbanisation? This means the growth of cities – but they all have grown up from villages,” Mr. Buketov noted. “We are also providing possible assistance to the country, ensuring food security. We work, produce dairy and meat products, grain, and send it all to shops for further sale. The President is right: villages must live and develop!”

In the early 1990s, Svetlana Tabunova participated in the Miss Pedagogy contest and accepted gifts from the hands of Aleksandr Lukashenko, who was then a deputy and a jury member. In 2012, the gift for her and the Shklov District was much more significant: at one of the meetings, Svetlana asked for help with a long-lasting construction project, the Ice Palace. “The President has kept his word, and now we have an arena where children train, where guests come, and where tournaments of different levels are held,” Ms. Tabunova, an instructor-methodologist of the Centre for Physical Culture and Wellness, noted. “Actually, many residents of Shklov personally communicated with Lukashenko. He was among us, he lived near us and never refused to help anyone. Personally, I saw Aleksandr Grigorievich doing exercises every morning. He is a man of his word, and I was always happy when he won the elections. Following the results of this visit, I also expect positive changes. We want to progress, love and believe in our country and our President. I want to wish him patience, health, and positivity!”

A young specialist, Victoria Filon, worked as a veterinarian in Lyubinichi for a year, and she also wanted to thank Lukashenko for the support of young people, “As soon as I arrived from Mogilev, I was provided with accommodation. I received money, and an experienced colleague helped me. That’s great, I am sure you will agree. I am also pleased that there are leisure opportunities here, and they are not worse than in the city; it is important for young people. Personally, I like active pastime and enjoy spending time on the lakes. The main thing is that people welcomed me heartily, I now have many friends, and everyone is ready to help in any difficult situation. If this tendency continues, I will remain to live and work in the Shklov District, I have actually fallen in love with it!”

In turn, Galina Marfel is concerned about peace in Belarus. “I have worked in the sphere of education all my life. I work with children, so I couldn't help but asked the President about the situation near our borders,” the lady said. “For our younger generation and us to live well, there must be peace. I was completely satisfied with his answer: it was encouraging. We have once again got convinced that Lukashenko is a bulwark of security. He is reliable to the extent the President should be!”
