Shen Yueyue: Belarus-China relations is model of new type of international relations
Under the strategic leadership of the presidents of Belarus and China, relations between the two states have made a qualitative leap, and they now represent a model of a new type of international relations – as stated by the Deputy Chairperson of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, Shen Yueyue, at a round table session focusing on the youth policy of Belarus and China
The Chinese parliamentarian stressed at the videoconference, “We have established high-level political mutual trust, support each other on key issues in the international arena, and constantly strengthen humanitarian co-operation. This year marks the tenth anniversary of the One Belt, One Road initiative, within which our interaction is strengthening and yielding results. In March of this year, Belarus’ President Aleksandr Lukashenko made a successful visit to China, following which the heads of our states reached important agreements on the further development of comprehensive relations and identified areas for mutually beneficial liaisons.”
According to Shen Yueyue, China and Belarus are all-weather, comprehensive strategic partners, and the topic of interaction in the field of youth policy is also of great importance for co-operation.
"The youth is the hope and the future for countries all over the world," she said. “The Communist Party and the Chinese Government pay special attention to working with young people. So, we have created a youth development programme, which is based on four levels – from national to regional. It has also recently been proposed that several cities take a clear focus on youth development. We have created more than 200 policy documents related to the development of young people and the protection of their rights. In addition, we have adopted a law on patriotic education aimed at strengthening patriotism as a spiritual force for future generations.”
