Sergeyenko met with Chairman of Islamic Consultative Assembly of Iran Ghalibaf
Igor Sergeyenko, the Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus of the eighth convocation, has met with Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, the Chairman of the Islamic Consultative Assembly of Iran, on the sidelines of the 10th BRICS Parliamentary Forum
During the conversation, Igor Sergeyenko noted the coincidence of approaches of Belarus and Iran to the issue of building a new architecture of international relations, the important elements of which are the BRICS and the SCO.
The two sides stressed the high level of Belarus-Iran political relations, as well as the importance of expanding co-operation in trade-economic, investment, humanitarian and other spheres. The high level of interaction between the parliaments was also noted.
“The dialogue of the legislative branches of government fully meets the mutual interests of bringing bilateral relations to the level of strategic partnership,” Igor Sergeyenko said.
The Chairman of the House of Representatives of Belarus listed shared experience in the legislative field and assistance to the development of a bilateral contractual and legal framework among the promising areas of parliamentary co-operation.
