Seoul warned of possible consequences for Pyongyang if peace violated
If the DPRK decides to commit provocations and undermine peace on the Korean Peninsula, it will face catastrophic consequences – as stated by South Korean Minister of National Defence Shin Won-sik, TASS reports
According to the official, North Korea has only two choices, “Peace or destruction. If North Korea takes reckless actions that undermine peace, only the hell of destruction will await it,” said Shin Won-sik.
Before this, Pyongyang threatened to turn Seoul into ‘a sea of fire’.
North Korea successfully launched its first spy satellite, Malligyong-1, on November 21st. In response, the Republic of Korea announced a partial suspension of the inter-Korean agreement on de-escalation and, together with the US, imposed additional sanctions.
The North Korean Defence Ministry announced that it would no longer abide by the entire agreement. This document included several measures aimed at preventing unintentional clashes, including the creation of no-fly zones, a ban on holding exercises in the buffer zone and the use of artillery ammunition in this area.
