Security Council explained how Belarus-Russia joint tactical flight exercises will be held
Tactical flight exercises of the armed forces of Belarus and Russia, scheduled to be held from January 16th to February 1st, will involve all airfields and training grounds of the Air Force and Air Defence Forces of Belarus’ Armed Forces – as informed by Pavel Muraveyko, the First Deputy State Secretary of the Security Council of Belarus, in his talk with the STV TV channel
As noted by Mr. Muraveyko, the army of each state should conduct training on a regular basis. “It may include exercises, manoeuvres, some kind of shooting and so on. In recent five years, Western countries have increased their military activity and the number of operational combat training events near our borders. It is worth noting that we are fulfilling the obligations aimed at ensuring stability and security. We have informed in advance that we will conduct such exercises, also disclosing who will be among their participants. We use not only our Armed Forces for this, but also the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation," he explained.
Mr. Muraveyko emphasised that, before the start of the exercises, Belarus had already observed certain provocations on the side of the West. According to him, all the fakes about the exercises – spread by its states – are an image game of certain politicians.
The First Deputy State Secretary of the Security Council also shed light on the character of the launched exercises, “These are a set of measures to prepare Belarusian and Russian aviation for the performance of relevant combat missions. Airfields and training grounds on the territory of Belarus will be used, and aviation military units of Belarusian and Russian troops will operate shoulder to shoulder, wing to wing there. The exercises are purely defensive in nature, and they are pre-scheduled. Aerial reconnaissance, repelling air attacks, aviation cover of important facilities and communications will be trained as part them.”
