Second power unit of Belarusian NPP to be put into commercial operation by late 2023
Olga Lugovskaya, the Head of the Department for Nuclear and Radiation Safety at the Emergencies Ministry, informed that the second power unit of the Belarusian nuclear power plant is planned to be put into commercial operation by the end of this year, STV TV channel reports
Ms. Lugovskaya stressed that the unit is currently at the state of commissioning, “That is, a sequence of actions is being performed, and we are slowly approaching the loading of nuclear fuel; we have already loaded it. Differently speaking, we have already passed the stage of physical launch.”
The official added that a permit has already been issued for the power start of the unit. “We are now at this stage. By the end of the year, it is assumed that the unit will be put into commercial operation," she stated.
