Sabalenka ranked second in WTA updated ranking
The Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) has published an updated world ranking, with Aryna Sabalenka placed second (higher of all female Belarusians) after losing leadership to Poland’s Iga Swiatek at the WTA Finals in Mexican Cancun
The positions of two more Belarusians who are in the top-100 of the ranking have not changed: Victoria Azarenka is still in 22nd place, and Aliaksandra Sasnovich is placed 88th.
Iryna Shymanovich and Yana Kolodynska moved up one position and are now 163rd and 219th, respectively.
The top-10 looks like this: 1. Iga Swiatek (Poland). 2. Aryna Sabalenka (Belarus). 3. Coco Gauff (USA). 4. Elena Rybakina (Kazakhstan). 5. Jessica Pegula (USA). 6. Ons Jabeur (Tunisia). 7. Marketa Vondrousova (Czech Republic). 8. Karolina Muchova (Czech Republic). 9. Maria Sakkari (Greece). 10. Barbora Krejcikova (Czech Republic).
In the Association of Professional Tennis Players (ATP) ranking, Ilya Ivashka is placed the highest among Belarusian men, in 184th place.
Serbian Novak Djokovic takes the lead, followed by Carlos Alcaraz (Spain), Daniil Medvedev (Russia), Jannik Sinner (Italy), Andrey Rublev (Russia), Stefanos Tsitsipas (Greece), Alexander Zverev (Germany), Holger Rune (Denmark), Hubert Hurkacz (Poland) and Taylor Fritz (USA) in the top-10.
