Russian State Duma Chairman: increasing number of countries understand that BRICS is prospect and guarantee of multipolar world
The time of the hegemony of the United States and the European Union is passing, and an increasing number of states are choosing the path of equal dialogue and co-operation in the interests of their citizens – as stated by the Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, Vyacheslav Volodin, RIA Novosti reports
"The time of the hegemony of Washington and Brussels is running out. Countries are choosing the path of equal dialogue and mutually beneficial co-operation in the interests of their peoples, and not to please the United States and its henchmen. The future relies on BRICS, which has already become the largest economic centre,” Mr. Volodin believes.
Earlier, Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Vulin said that Serbia considers joining BRICS as a real alternative to joining the European Union. According to the Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, Serbia does not see the EU as a partner.
"An increasing number of countries understand that BRICS is a prospect and a guarantee of a multipolar world. The participants and observers of this union are not blackmailed, they are not given absurd conditions for co-operation, and there is no interference into the sovereign affairs of these countries in comparison to what the European Union is doing” Mr. Volodin said.
