Russian Defence Ministry: US military-biological activity gaining momentum
NATO is actively trying to deploy its forces and infrastructure in the Asia-Pacific region, and the military-biological activities of the United States are gaining momentum – as stated by the Deputy Defence Minister of Russia, Aleksandr Fomin, TASS reports
"Recently, there have been active attempts to deploy NATO's power potential in the Asia-Pacific region. Under the pretext of the ‘indivisibility of the security of the Euro-Atlantic and the Indo-Pacific region’, Western countries are actually deploying their forces and infrastructure here," Mr. Fomin said at the tenth meeting of the SMOA Plus in Jakarta.
According to him, the military biological activity of the United States is gaining momentum, within the framework of which a whole network of laboratories has been deployed in a number of countries in the Asia-Pacific region. "Such American laboratories in Ukraine functioned with the assistance of those European states that today seek to join the mechanisms of ASEAN Plus," the Deputy Defence Minister added. “We note the attempts of the United States and its allies to use the problems of climate change and emergency situations to conduct so-called humanitarian interventions.”
Mr. Fomin also stressed that ‘the activities of the United Kingdom, France, Germany, the Netherlands and Italy, which are members of NATO, contribute to the militarisation of the Asia-Pacific region and provoke an arms race’. “These countries are expanding the presence of their naval and air forces here, increasing the regularity and scale of multilateral military exercises. During the manoeuvres, deterrence and counteraction scenarios are being worked out. At the same time, there are no real military threats to the security of these European states," he stated.
