Russian astronomer explained postponement of Soyuz MS-25 spacecraft launch
The launch of the Soyuz-2.1a carrier rocket with the Soyuz MS-25 manned transport spacecraft was scheduled for March 21st, however, it was postponed to March 23rd, and, as a result, became a success. An astronomer, Associate Professor of the Faculty of Physics of the Moscow State University (Russia), Vladimir Surdin, explained the reasons for postponing the launch of the spacecraft in his talk with the Belarus 1 TV channel.
The expert noted that flight postponements are a regular situation and there is nothing unusual about them.
“This is a very stressful moment, a big load on the equipment. If at least some small detail is not well thought-out, does not accurately meet the computer's demands, of course, the flight has to be postponed. This is done regularly and repeatedly. Even such a great space engineer as Elon Musk, and experienced NASA and Roscosmos experts, or Chinese taikonauts very often postpone the flight if the wind is above the permissible norm, the clouds are very high, and it is difficult to follow the flight of the rocket when the clouds are low, etc. There is nothing unusual about this. Flight postponement is a fairly regular procedure,” the expert stated.
