Russia, Vietnam adopted statement on strategic partnership
At least eleven documents were signed following the results of the Russian leader’s state visit to Vietnam, and presidents Vladimir Putin and To Lam also adopted a statement On Further Deepening Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in Context of 30th Anniversary of Russian-Vietnamese Treaty on Foundations of Friendly Relations, TASS reports
Ties in the field of energy are significantly deepening: Zarubezhneft received a license to develop Block 11-2 of the Vietnamese continental shelf, and Novatek signed a memorandum of co-operation with the state-owned Petrovietnam company. In turn, the Russian Direct Investment Fund signed an agreement with Vietnam’s BVIM.
Other signed documents include an agreement on co-operation in the field of higher education and bilateral agreements between the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration, Higher School of Economics, and Far Eastern Federal University with Vietnamese universities, in particular Hanoi State University, as well as the Vietnamese Academy of Social Sciences.
Memoranda were signed on the schedule of a nuclear science and technology centre in Vietnam, which is being built with the participation of Rosatom, as well as on co-operation in the development of laboratory infrastructure to combat epidemics.
Russia and Vietnam have also agreed that their ministries of justice, tax services, and customs will liaise.
