Russia, Syria start air force and air defence exercises
On July 5th, Russian-Syrian exercises to test the issues of joint actions of aviation and air defence forces are beginning – as informed by the Deputy Head of the Russian Reconciliation Centre for Syria, Rear Admiral Oleg Gurinov, TASS reports

“On July 5th, joint Russian-Syrian exercises are beginning in Syria – to last six days. In the course of training it is planned to work out the issues of joint actions of aviation, air defence and electronic warfare forces in repulsion of air strikes,” Mr. Gurinov said.
In April, it was reported that the crews of the Russian Aerospace Forces and special forces units of the Syrian Armed Forces worked out the destruction of terrorists who captured a settlement as part of the exercises in the Syrian province of Hama.
