Russia’s State Duma Chairman: Single Voting Day results proved Belarusians’ absolute support of Aleksandr Lukashenko
The Chairman of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union State of Belarus and Russia, Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin, congratulated the patriotic forces of Belarus on the victory in the elections held in the country, sb.by reports with reference to the Parliamentary Assembly’s press service
“For the first time, in accordance with the updated Constitution, elections in Belarus were held on Single Voting Day. The same model is used in Russia. The results of the elections to the Parliament and local councils showed the victory of patriotic forces and the Belarusian people’s absolute support of President Aleksandr Lukashenko,” Mr. Volodin stressed.
Deputies of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union State of Belarus and Russia, as well as those from the State Duma of Russia, worked as observers at the recent elections in Belarus. In their statement following the observation mission’s work, the State Duma deputies noted that the elections had been held openly, competitively, legitimately, within the framework of national legislation, and no violations had been recorded.
