Rostov Region offers services of its port infrastructure to Belarus
The Rostov Region of Russia offers the services of its port infrastructure to Belarus – as announced by Governor Vasily Golubev at his meeting with President Aleksandr Lukashenko
The Russian Governor noted a dynamic growth of trade and economic co-operation between his territory and Belarus, also stressing the need to develop new projects: i.e. the use of the Rostov Region’s port infrastructure by Belarus.
“I think that our Belarusian partners, our brothers and friends are interested in the possibility of developing export supplies. As you know, the Azov-Black Sea basin – our ports in Azov, Taganrog and Rostov – is a topic that requires constant support. At the same time, we understand that the solution of some issues depends, among other things, on Russia’s federal authorities. We are all time involved into this issue, but an increased burden on the Rostov Region should be accompanied by modernisation and infrastructure development,” he said.
Mr. Golubev also noted great prospects for co-operation in agriculture, adding that 15m+ tonnes of grain have been harvested this year in the region – which makes 10 percent of all Russian grain. “These are very good results in oilseeds. We have harvested 2m tonnes of oilseeds for the first time. Development of the processing industry for our agricultural produce is also topical for us,” he said.
