Roman Golovchenko, Li Qiang signed joint communique of governments of Belarus, China
A large package of documents has been signed during the official visit of Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China Li Qiang to Belarus
In particular, during their meeting on August 22nd, Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko and his Chinese counterpart Li Qiang signed a draft joint communique of the two governments.
As explained in the Council of Ministers, the document defines key areas of co-operation, including increasing and optimising trade, industrial co-operation (especially in pharmaceuticals, energy, trade in intermediate goods), ICT development, technical, economic and credit assistance, development of an interconnected transport network, scientific and technical co-operation, co-operation in agriculture, e-commerce, finance, culture, education and sports.
The communique condemns the unilateral use of coercive measures as a way of interfering in the internal affairs of states. It also outlines the commitment to ensuring international security and global development, including co-operation in the field of defence, justice, law enforcement, as well as through strengthening liaisons within such integration associations as the UN, SCO and BRICS. In addition, the document defends the inviolability of the results of WWII.
During the meeting, the following documents were also signed:
— an agreement between the Government of the Republic of Belarus and the Government of the People's Republic of China on trade in services and investment;
— a protocol between the Economy Ministry of the Republic of Belarus and the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China on the establishment of a working group on investment co-operation within the Commission on Trade and Economic Co-operation of the Belarusian-Chinese Intergovernmental Co-operation Committee;
— a plan of co-operation between the two governments to strengthen interaction within the One Belt, One Road initiative and the National Strategy for Sustainable Socio-Economic Development of Belarus;
— a memorandum of understanding between the Economy Ministry of Belarus and the State Committee for Development and Reforms of the People's Republic of China on the exchange of experience and co-operation in the field of economic development;
— a number of other documents that define the strategy for further bilateral relations.
