Rogozhnik, Mezentsev discussed intensification of work to ensure equal rights of Belarusian and Russian citizens in Union State
Aleksandr Rogozhnik, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to Russia, Belarus’ special representative for integration co-operation to the Union State, held a meeting with State Secretary of the Union State Dmitry Mezentsev, sb.by reports with reference to the Belarusian diplomatic mission’s press service
“The agenda and preparations have been discussed in detail for the upcoming meetings of the Supreme State Council, the Council of Ministers, and the High-level Group of the Union State Council of Ministers, dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the signing of the Union State Treaty,” the message reads.
Special attention was paid to certain measures required to intensify work to ensure equal rights of citizens of Belarus and Russia within the Union State, including in terms of customs inspection and border control at airports, shortage of rail transport on holidays and weekends, and the abolition of roaming.
Further measures have been agreed to create a Union State media holding company in order to improve the quality of information support for integration processes.
“An agreement has been reached to continue operational contacts across the entire spectrum of interaction within the framework of the Union State,” the diplomatic mission added.
